In addition to social housing, the Housing Department offers a variety of supports to individuals who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. These include temporary housing, emergency housing, and outreach services to help people in getting the assistance and support they require.
Additionally, the department is responsible for making sure that any housing developments in the area adhere to the necessary standards and legislation. This includes making sure that new construction is carried out appropriately and that it satisfies the demands of the surrounding community.
