LONGFORD COUNTY COUNCIL ENVIRONMENT DEPARTMENT
Stray dogs are brought to Longford County Pound by the dog warden. The pound also accepts unwanted dogs from members of the public. Stray dogs must be kept in the pound for a minimum of 5 days. After this time they can be rehomed or put to sleep. Some dogs are not suitable for rehoming due to their temperament, or disease etc however It is our policy to try to rehome as many suitable dogs as possible.
Our dogs are now listed on the Facebook Webpage of Longford Dog Shelter. If you would like to rehome any of the dogs shown on their page please telephone 043 33 43461/ 043 33 43384 during office hours.
Please visit Dog Shelter Longford to view dogs currently at the pound.
