Community & Enterprise.
The Community & Enterprise Directorate of Longford County Council provides a range of new and innovative interventions and services within the Local Government system. The work of the Directorate broadened to include a range of various functions in 2002 and the importance of Community & Enterprise within the local Government system continues to develop and grow.
The primary function of the Department at the time was the establishment of the County Development Board, which consists of representatives from Local Government, Local Development Bodies, Statutory Agencies and Social Partners. The role of the Board is to co-ordinate the activities of the agencies at local level. Additionaly the Community and Enterprise Section is involved in:
