WELCOME TO CUSTOMER SERVICES DEPARTMENT
Longford County Council opened its dedicated Customer Services Desk and centralised Receipting Office in November 2007. These services were introduced as part of the Council's ongoing commitment to better meet the needs of those who wish to access its services.
The Council has a Customer Services Charter which sets out clearly the manner in which those who contact the Council can expect to be dealt with. The Council will endeavour to provide the very highest quality of services possible. The Council is committed to treating every customer with dignity and respect. Equally the Council expects that those accessing its services will treat the employees of the Council that they deal with in a respectful manner.
It is expected that over time the Customer Services Desk will deal with many queries that are routine in nature such as providing details of opening hours, issuing application forms and providing information on the various services and activities that the Council is engaged in.
The centralised Receipting Office was opened in the hope that it would make it easier for customers wishing to make payments to the Council to locate the office where payments should be made. The fact that the Receipting Office is located alongside the Customer Services Desk in Áras an Chontae is seen as being advantageous to customers who may wish to make a number of queries and payments during a single visit to the offices of the Council.
