Information Technology
The Information Technology Department of Longford County Council has responsibility for the maintenance, pro-curement and implementation of all Computer and Information Technology systems. A total of 10 people work full time in the IT department providing support services to staff members, development and enhancement of council websites and the implementation of GIS technology for Co. Longford.
Information Technology is becoming more and more important in the organisation as the delivery of service in all other departments rely heavily on IT and the software systems we supply to them. Together with the LGCSB ( Local Government Computer Services Board) we have developed a number of bespoke and third party solutions enabling the flow of information between departments and individuals that greatly enhance the over all quality of delivered services from Longford Co. Council.
