WELCOME TO LONGFORD COUNTY COUNCIL'S PLANNING DEPARTMENT

Urban and Village Regeneration Measure 2000-2006

Longford County Council undertook a number of projects during the years 2002-2006 which were supported by funding from the E.U under the National Development Plan, 2000-2006.

This funding assisted the council in carrying out projects in towns and villages throughout the county which were aimed at making them more attractive places in which to live and work, to encourage social and economic development and facilitate and support the development of tourism and tourism related activity.

The projects generally consisted of improvements to streetscapes including new footpaths and kerbing, installation of new street lighting, underground service ducting, landscaping and street furniture.
