Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme 2018
The Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme 2018 has recently been launched by Minister for Rural and Community Development, Michael Ring TD. This scheme will provide funding for the development of new outdoor recreational infrastructure and for the necessary maintenance, enhancement or promotion of existing outdoor recreational infrastructure in rural areas across Ireland.
The Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme 2018 will have three measures, with varying grant amounts available, as detailed in the table below.

Selection of projects under the Scheme will be by means of a competitive process. Final project selection will be made by the Department of Rural and Community Development on the basis of applications submitted by the Local Authorities.
Longford County Council is seeking project proposals from town/village groups who may have a suitable project for consideration under the Scheme. All project proposals will be assessed based on the priorities as contained in the Scheme Outline.
