Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP) 2018–2022
The Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP) 2018–2022 provides funding to tackle poverty and social exclusion at a local level.
It targets and supports disadvantaged communities and individuals including unemployed people, people living in deprived areas, people with disabilities, single parent families, people on a low income, members of the Traveller and Roma community and other disadvantaged groups who are less likely to use mainstream services.
SICAP aims to address high and persistent levels of deprivation through targeted and innovative, locally-led approaches.Programme funding is used to strengthen communities and improve people’s lives.
SICAP 2018–2022 is the successor programme to SICAP 2015-2017.
The Social Inclusion Community Activation Programme (SICAP) 2018-2022 is funded by the Irish Government through Department of Rural and Community Development with co-financing from the European Social Fund under the Programme for Employability, Inclusion and Learning (PEIL)2014-2020 and is overseen locally by Longford Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) with support from Longford County Council.
