Waste Collection Permits

Waste Collection Permits

The Waste Management (Collection Permit) Regulations 2007 as amended, require all collectors of waste to hold a valid waste collection permit. This permit contains conditions which specify the waste types allowed to be collected, the vehicles to be used and the hours of operation as well as many other conditions.

On the 1st of February 2012, Offaly County Council was designated as the Nominated Authority for the processing of all new Waste Collection Permit applications and review applications received on or after that date. This single Nominated Authority will be known as the National Waste Collection Permit Office (NWCPO); contact details: -

If you are using the services of a waste collection contractor for your home or business, please ensure that the contractor holds a relevant collection permit. All permit holders are obliged to display a clearly visible sign on their vehicles. This sign should contain the collection permit number. It is an offence to give waste to someone that does not hold a waste collection permit.
