Advance Notification of Works
N4 Longford Bypass Pavement Resurfacing Scheme Phase 1
Roadstone Ltd have been appointed on behalf of Longford County Council as the main contractor for the N4 Longford
Bypass Pavement Resurfacing Scheme Phase 1 and wish to provide advance notice of significant roadworks on the N4
from the Leo Casey (Ballinalee Road) Roundabout to the Charlotte Brooke Roundabout.
The scheme will generally involve the following works:
1. Road reconstruction/resurfacing.
2. Road Markings and Studs installation.
3. Ancillary Accommodation Works.
The works will be carried out under a stop/go traffic management system with a Roadworks Special Speed Limit of
60kmh in place for the duration of the works. The main resurfacing works will be carried out from 24-04-2023 to 14-
07-2023. These works shall be carried out at night-time (7pm to 4am) to minimise traffic disruption.
The Resurfacing of each roundabout will require the Regional Road leg of each roundabout to be closed for 1 night.
Note: The N4 shall remain open at all times, with one regional road leg closed per night between the date listed
below.
Date of each junction closure, as determined by progress of the works, shall be advertised on site.

The final 3 weeks of works will be carried out during daytime working hours 8am to 6pm (roadworks to finish at 1pm
on Friday’s) under a stop/go operation.
The nature of these works often means some disturbance is unavoidable, but please be assured that every effort will
