Community Houses
Ardnacassa and MacEoin Park Community Houses
Longford County Council owns and operates two community houses: for the Ardnacassa area, there is Ardnacassa Community House at 4 Palace Crescent, and for the Farnagh area, there is the MacEoin Park Community House at 125 MacEoin Park.
Community houses have the following values: respect, equality, pride, safety, inclusion, and justice.
These community houses aim to create a safe space for members of the community can visit, meet one another, feel included and access supports. At the community house, local people can also identify what support they need, and the community house will work to provide this support. Supports may include:
- Providing information and advice on the services available locally
- Training and education courses
- Homework clubs, men’s groups, parent and toddler groups, and youth groups
- Counselling
- Access to information technology and office facilities

Community Groups and Agencies at the Community Houses
Both community houses are open to community groups and local agencies looking to engage with the communities in those areas. Complete the Booking Request Form if your organisation wants to request space at either community house.
Funding for the Community Houses
The Community Houses are co-funded by Longford County Council, the Longford Community Safety Partnership and Longford Sláintecare Healthy Communities Programme, with support from the Department of Justice and Department of Health.
