Longford County Childcare Committee (LCCC)
The LCCC is the first point of contact for anyone seeking advice, information, or support in relation to early childhood care and education in Longford. 
It provides details about the ECCE Scheme (free preschool), childcare subsidies, registered providers, and training supports for childcare professionals. 

Tusla (Child and Family Agency)
Tusla registers, inspects, and supports all pre-schools, creches, and school-age childcare services in Ireland. Parents can verify that their childcare providers is registered and compliant. 

Tusla have developed booklets and leaflets that include some practical guidance for parents to help them navigate the early years of a child's life while in Ireland, from pre-school childcare and the schooling system, right through to child supervision and family support services. National Childcare Scheme (NCS)
The NCS provides financial support to help families with early learning and childcare costs.

Longford/Westmeath Community Families 
This service provides home visits, early years parenting support, and guidance for families with young children. 
All visits are confidential and free of charge. 

Longford Women's Link (LWL)
LWL offers family support, domestic violence services, conselling, and education programme for women and families in Longford.

Tusla Family Support Services 
Tusla offers a range of supports to help families with children who may be struggling at home, in school, or in the community.

Foróige 
Foróige provides youth clubs, mentoring, and leadership programmes for young people in Longford.

This organisation provides youth clubs, drop-in centres, and education programmes throughout Longford. 

Youthreach (LWETB)
A Department of Education and Skills programme for early school leavers aged 15-20. 
Youthreach offers education, training, and work experience opportunities. 

Financial and Child Benefit Supports 

Child Benefit
A monthly payment made to parents or guardians of children under 16 (or under 18 if in full-time education or living with a disability).

Back-to-School Clothing and Footwear Allowance
A yearly payment to help families meet school-related costs.

Parent's Benefit
A payment for parents who take time off work to care for their new baby or adopted child.

Barnardos
Barnardos Bereavement Service provides bereavement and trauma support for Ukrainian parents and children. This webpage is in Ukrainian and is a hub for all Barnardos resources translated to Ukrainian. 

Barnardos also provides an IPAS Family Support Service for families living in accommodation centres across the Midlands region, including Longford. They work with families on some of the following issues:

  • Children exposed to trauma
  • Homelessness
  • Bereavement/Loss
  • Domestic Violence
  • Parental Substance Abuse
  • Parent-child bonding and attachment
  • Parental Mental Health

ActionAid Ireland
ActionAid works with women and girls living in poverty and provides resources for one-parent families living in accommodation centres.
