Health Supports
The Health Service Executive (HSE) provides public health and social care services to everyone living in Ireland.
Information about the public healthcare system and common health topics is available in several languages here: Public healthcare system information.
A guide on the Irish Health System for refugees and other migrants, translated into multiple languages, can be accessed here: Irish health system- guide for refugees and other migrants.
There are GP clinics available for Roma communities, protection applicants and undocumented migrants only (those without access to primary care service).
Further information can be found here: Free GP clinics for Roma communities, protection applicants and undocumented migrants only.
For Roma communities, specific translated information and video content are also available in English, Romanian, Czech and Slovak at HSE Roma Health.
If you are a Beneficiary of Temporary Protection (BOTP) or an International Protection applicant (IRPP), you can access free or low-cost healthcare services through the HSE.
Your first step is to apply for a Medical Card, which provides free GP visits, hospital care, prescriptions, and dental treatment (through approved dentists).
