The Needs Assessment Report for the Development of a Family Resource Centre in Longford Town was commissioned by Longford County Council, in partnership with Sláintecare Healthy Communities, the Longford Community Safety Partnership, and Healthy Longford, to explore the need for a Family Resource Centre in Longford Town and its surrounding areas.

What's in the Report

The report includes an introduction section, giving background and the purpose of the needs assessment, as well as the pillars of the Family Resource Centre Programme and a profile of Longford town. Section two considers the research methodology and section 3 considers the national research context. 

Research Findings

The insights and lived experiences of the 155 individuals who participated in focus groups, one-to-one interviews, and consultations are the backbone of this report. This included young people, parents and families, older people, members of the Traveller community, new communities and people with disabilities and living with life challenges. 

The final section of the report is the conclusion, followed by a short appendix.
