Longford Post-Primary Tech Awards

null

The Longford Post-Primary Tech Awards, hosted by Longford County Council in 2023 and 2024, shine a spotlight on the creativity and innovation of our local fifth-year Computer Science students. These awards provide an exciting platform for students to showcase their technology projects amongst their peers, bridging the gap between classroom learning and the practical application of these learnings in solving real world problems.

Supported by funding from the Government of Ireland and the EU Just Transition Fund Programme with the main prize being sponsored by Irish Public Bodies, the awards demonstrate Longford’s commitment to fostering technological talent and preparing the next generation of innovators.

The awards are adjudicated by representatives from tech giants such as Microsoft and Ericsson, Longford County Council's senior management team, along with representatives from other specialist areas such as members of Longford County Council's Climate Action Team and some of our local tech-enthusiast primary school teachers.
