Microsoft DreamSpace
Dream Space is Microsoft Ireland's STEM innovation and education programme, aimed at empowering students explore the world of STEM and computer science through various curriculum subjects like geography, P.E., visual arts, and more. Supported by OurKidsCode and the Department of Rural and Community Development, primary level students are introduced to technologies like micro:bits in order to develop and apply critical thinking and problem solving skills to real-world problems.
Longford were one of two pilot counties to host a Microsoft Dream Space Showcase in May 2023, and this continued for a second time in May 2024. Over 450 children from 18 primary schools across the county took part in Longford's Microsoft Dream Space Showcase 2024, demonstrating over 100 projects related to Climate Action, Road Safety, sports, and many more.
