Child Safeguarding Statement

Longford County Council has a corporate duty and responsibility to safeguard the children accessing Council services and activities.

Our Child Safeguarding Statement was developed in accordance with the Children First Act 2015, Children First: National Guidance for the Protection and Welfare of Children (2017), and TUSLA’s Child Safeguarding: A Guide for Policy, Procedure and Practice. The policy outlines our child safeguarding principles, procedures, reporting and more.

Our Policy and Procedures for Protection and Safeguarding of Children outline the Council’s mandatory policy and procedures for the protection and safeguarding of children in accordance with the Children First Act, 2015 and Children First: National Guidance for the Protection and Welfare of Children 2017.
