County Longford is shaping up for one of the biggest nights of cultural events ever held in the county. In
total, ten separate events will take place on Friday 17 September. And it’s all as the county basks in the
afterglow of hosting 50 Longford Live & Local music concerts over the last two to three months.

Longford Live and Local began preparation in early June and finally put on its debut gig on 9 July. Since then
the Live and Local team under the careful stewardship of project co-ordinator Shane Crossan of Republic of
Culture and the Arts Office of Longford County Council, has staged 50 concerts across the county with an
attendance of over 7,000 people at 27 venues. In doing so, the programme has supported 120 local
musicians toward a much-awaited return to live performance.

Longford Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) invites applications from Social Enterprises for funding under the above grant scheme. The Social Enterprise Capital Grants Scheme 2021 is one initiative being taken by the Department of Rural and Community Development under the National Social Enterprise Policy for Ireland.
