‘Christian Presence in Morocco: Living Together’ exhibition launches Longford Town

The ‘Christian Presence in Morocco: Living Together’ exhibition has been launched in St Mel’s Cathedral in Longford Town on Tuesday, 22 November.
The exhibition is open to all until Monday, 12 December. The exhibition shows a retrospective look on some unknown episodes of history, tracing 800 years of Christian presence in Morocco. The exhibition also displays the visit of Pope François to the Morocco in 2019 and commemorates the historic visit by Jean Paul II in 1985. The first exhibition was previously presented in Christ Church Cathedral in Dublin in June 2022.
The exhibition was opened by Longford County Council Cathaoirleach Cllr Turlough McGovern. It was attended by His Excellency Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco Lahcen Mahraoui. Father James McKiernan and members and management of Longford County Council were also in attendance at the event.
The exhibition was organised by Longford County Council and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco.
