Housing Delivery in 2026 in Longford

Longford County Council plans to continue to deliver new social homes and maintain existing social homes in Longford this year, as part of its ongoing commitment to tackling housing needs locally.
This progress reflects a sustained effort to increase supply and provide quality homes for individuals and families in Longford.
Paddy Mahon, Chief Executive of Longford County Council said, “Housing continues to be a priority for the county. Our social homes provide secure accommodation for individuals and families. Our continued focus is on developing, improving and acquiring quality and sustainable homes and building communities that meet the needs of people in the Longford.”
The local authority is also working closely with Approved Housing Bodies (AHBs) and the private sector to accelerate delivery and continues to bring vacant properties back into use.
Director of Services for Housing, Samantha Healy said, “We understand significant housing pressures are facing people in our county. Longford County Council is focused on delivering homes and providing the supports people need. Tackling housing supply requires careful planning and collaboration and we are committed to building upon what is being achieved and significantly increasing the housing supply in County Longford.
