Expression of Interest – Fee-Per-Case Planning Professionals
Longford County Council invites Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified and experienced planning professionals who wish to be considered for engagement on a fee-per-case basis to support the Planning Authority in managing planning-related caseloads.
Role Overview
Engagements will be on a fee-per-case basis. Appointees will not be employees of Longford County Council and no guarantee is given regarding the number of cases assigned. The role may include assessment of planning applications and related statutory cases, site inspections, and preparation of professional planning reports and recommendations, in accordance with statutory requirements and agreed procedures.
Eligibility
Applicants must: • Hold a professional qualification in planning recognised by the Irish Planning Institute (IPI) and/or the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI); • Have a minimum of five (5) years relevant post-qualification planning experience; • Demonstrate the ability to work independently and meet statutory timelines; • Have a sound knowledge of Irish planning legislation and practice.
Fee
The fee payable will be determined by Longford County Council. Payment will be subject to applicable tax and statutory requirements.
Governance and Compliance
Applicants must be in a position to demonstrate independence and objectivity. Any potential conflicts of interest must be declared. Engagements will be subject to Longford County Council’s governance, ethics, data protection, and Freedom of Information obligations.
