Free Climate Course for Over 55’s … Over a Cup of Tea!
Edgeworthstown Library to host course organised by Longford County Council Age Friendly and Climate Action Teams

A free six-week Climate Course for the over 55’s, will commence in Edgeworthstown Library on Tuesday, 13 January 2026, facilitated by Jacinta Barrins, retired UN Diplomat and organised by Longford County Council Age Friendly and Climate Action Teams.
The course will run for two hours (10.30am -12.30pm) each Tuesday for six weeks. The course is about helping the over 55’s to demystify climate change and focuses on explaining in common language what climate change is and why we are asked to act. Jacinta Barrins will explain the science behind the link between the cup of tea and climate change. Expect to be engaged and motivated.
There will be lots of discussion on practical everyday actions that can be taken. Both men and women are encouraged to attend for robust conversations. Jacinta delivers these courses on a voluntary basis around the country.
