Longford County Council and Michael Neary Park Management Committee contracts signed

Longford County Council is delighted to confirm that lease contracts have been signed with Michael Neary Park Management Committee for the plot of ground at Michael Neary Park, Strokestown Road, Longford Town. This took place in Longford County Council offices on Friday, 31 May.

It follows the establishment of the Michael Neary Park Management Committee. This committee plans to proceed with upgrading this facility to make it a place for teams to participate in sporting activities. The committee consists of members from Longford Wanders Football Club, Longford Schoolboys and Schoolgirls League, Newtown Football Club and Killoe Football Club.

Longford County Council Cathaoirleach Cllr Colm Murray said, “This contract signing has come about due to the hard work Cllr Seamus Butler and members of Longford Municipal District, as well as Longford County Council Director of Services John Brannigan. I look forward to seeing the future development of this area in Longford Town.”
