Longford County Council opens Public Consultation for Longford Biodiversity Action Plan

Longford County Council is holding a public consultation period for the Longford Biodiversity Action Plan 2024-2029, with public consultations days held in Ballymahon, Longford, Edgeworthstown and Granard Libraries.

This Longford Biodiversity Action Plan aims to promote, protect, and enhance County Longford’s biodiversity, important for local flora and fauna, climate action and many other benefits for the local environment. It is funded by The Heritage Council and Longford County Council.

For this public consultation, local people and groups are encouraged to share any opportunities to protect local biodiversity, as well as any threats which they have identified.

Contributions can be made in person with the Council’s Biodiversity Officer on:
• Tuesday, 23 July from 10am to 4.30pm at Ballymahon Library
• Thursday, 25 July from 10am to 4.30pm at Longford Library
• Tuesday, 30 July from 10am to 4.30pm at Edgeworthstown Library
• Thursday, 1 August from 10am to 4.30pm at Granard Library

Submissions can also be made via a survey, by post and by email. Please visit the Public Consultation page under the Your Council section on Longfordcoco.ie. Submissions should be made before Friday, 23 August.
