Press Release: Wednesday, 18 December 2024
Longford County Council's 2024 Gender Pay Gap Report has today (Wednesday, 18 December) been published on Longfordcoco.ie. The report highlights the percentage difference between what men and women are paid on average in the organisation, irrespective of roles or levels.
This report shows a gender pay gap of -1.19%, with females occupying higher paid roles compared to males. This shows a decreasing gender pay gap compared to 2023 reporting when the gender pay gap was reported as -3.02%.
The Gender Pay Gap Information Act 2021 requires organisations with over 150 employees to report on their gender pay gap by selecting a "snapshot" date in the month of June to base their reporting. Longford County Council's snapshot date was 30 June. A headcount of all employees on this date was carried out and the gender pay information was calculated based on those employees' remuneration.
Longford County Council Chief Executive Paddy Mahon welcomed the publication of this year's Gender Pay Gap Report. "As an employer, the Council strives to be an open, supportive and inclusive workplace. This report is welcomed as it allows us to be more transparent as we continually seek to make improvements to bring about pay parity. We are proud to be an organisation where employees all have the same opportunities for recognition and career development."
