Longford County Council wins at the Annual All-Ireland Occupational Safety Awards 2024

Winner of the Regional (Midlands) Award and the Exceptional High Achiever Award

Longford County Council is pleased to have been crowned winner of the Regional (Midlands) Award and the Exceptional High Achiever Award at the Annual All-Ireland Occupational Safety Awards 2024.

These awards celebrate outstanding health and safety workplace standards. Longford County Council has consistently been recognised as a top performer at these awards, with award wins every year since first entering in 2014.

The awards are run by the National Irish Safety Organisation (NISO) in conjunction with the Northern Ireland Safety Group (NISG). The ceremony took place on Friday, 11 October in the Great Southern Hotel, Killarney.

Longford County Council Cathaoirleach Cllr Mark Casey said, “Congratulations to the Health and Safety team and all Council employees for their consistency and excellence in upholding the highest standards of health and safety in the workplace. Their hard work has once again been rightfully recognised at these awards.”

Longford County Council Chief Executive Paddy Mahon added, “The Council is committed to promoting a culture of upholding excellent health and safety standards across the organisation. I thank all of our Council employees for their continued hard work.”
