In accordance with Department of Housing, Planning & Local Government Order entitled 'Emergency Measures in the Public Interest (Covid-19) Act 2020 (Part 3) (Commencement) Order 2020 made by Minister Eoghan Murphy, the following will apply in relation to Planning Applications:-

Planning Applications:-

Planning Applications can currently be submitted by post.
Submissions on Planning Applications can be made by post or hand delivered to our post box with appropriate payment.
Submissions can also be made electronically to (please phone 043 33 43323 for payment purposes in order to ensure valid submission).

The Covid 19 legislation pauses statutory planning timelines for the duration of the order from 29th March – 23rd May, inclusive. 

Planning Applications submitted after 21st February and before 29th March:-

The normal 5 week period to allow for submissions will be extended by 8 weeks.
The decision date will be extended by 8 weeks.

Planning Applications submitted after 29th March:-

Submissions can be accepted, the final date for submissions will be 5 weeks after the expiry of the duration of the Order (5 weeks from 24th May).
Decision dates will be extended in accordance with the Order (up to 8 weeks from 24th May).

Appeals to An Bord Pleanala:-

Planning Applications decided by Longford County Council where period for appeal has not expired: The period for appeals will be extended by min. 8 weeks.  No Final Grant can be issued until after this period.

Site Visits:-

Site visits have recommenced with effect from 18th May in accordance with the 'Roadmap for Reopening Society and Business' provided adequate social distancing can be maintained.
