Rathcline road closure

Temporary Closing of Roads – Roads Act 1993 (Section 75)

Longford County Council gives notice that it proposes to close the following road:

Road for Closure:      Rathcline road L-1169 will be closed from Main Street, Lanesborough to the junction of L-11671-0 and L-1168-0

Date of Closure:        Monday 17 January 2022 to Friday 4 March 2022

Hours of Closure:      24-hours

Detour Route:            There will a one-way system for the diversions to avoid congestion going to and from the school in Fermoyle.

Travelling from Lanesborough to Fermoyle: take the R392 towards Ballymahon for approximately 2km, then turn right onto L-1168 signposted for the Newtown Cashel, then left onto L-1166-0 and right onto the L-1165-0. 

Travelling from Fermoyle towards Lanesborough, take the L-1167-0 towards Lanesborough, turn right at the road closure onto the L-1168-0 and then left onto the R392 to Lanesborough.

Local Access will be provided from each end of the Rathcline Road, but no through road access will be possible.

This closure is to facilitate water mains construction works on behalf of Irish Water

Any person wishing to make a submission in relation to the proposed temporary road closure must lodge the submission, in writing, with the undersigned not later than 12pm on Wednesday 5 January 2022.
