Shaping 2026: A call for ideas to boost Arts and community life
Longford Business Arts Initiative invites public to shape cultural future
Press Release: Monday, 17 November 2025
Longford Business Arts Initiative will host a public meeting for individuals, businesses, and community groups interested in developing arts and cultural events in Longford Town for 2026.
The meeting will take place at Longford Library on Tuesday, 25 November at 7.30pm.
This initiative is supported by Longford Chamber of Commerce and Longford County Council’s Arts, NTE and Enterprise Offices.
The meeting is open to artists, creatives, social entrepreneurs, community activists, and business owners who want to see more cultural events in Longford and are willing to share ideas and time to make this happen.
Increasing arts and cultural activities in Longford Town will boost footfall, support hospitality and retail businesses, and attract visitors with disposable income. This will strengthen both the local economy and the cultural sector.
Although organised by Longford County Council, the meeting will be guided by the needs of businesses and the cultural community. It will be facilitated by Séadhna Ryan and the Longford Arts Office.
Chief Executive of Longford County Council, Paddy Mahon said, "This initiative is about collaboration—bringing business and culture together to create a vibrant Longford that benefits everyone."
Cathaoirleach of Longford County Council, Cllr Garry Murtagh said, "Arts and culture are at the heart of community life. We want Longford to be a place where creativity thrives, and businesses prosper."
