Storm Amy Update

Longford County Council crews are continuing to clear roads, deal with flooding issues, fallen trees and debris as a result of Storm Amy. Fire Services responded to damage to the roof in the old fire station in Edgeworthstown and damage to a commercial roof in Longford Town. Civil Defence supplied sandbags to a home at risk of flooding and cleared debris to reduce the risk.

Across the weekend, the public can continue to report fallen trees and debris on roads by calling the Council’s out-of-hours number 1800 211 525.

Report fallen wires to ESB Emergency Services on 1800 372 999. Stay clear of fallen wires.

The Electricity network may be impacted, the public are advised to ensure their mobile phone is fully charged to enable communication.
