World Refugee Week Celebrations

Community comes together to celebrate World Refugee Week

Longford Local Authority Integration Team, Longford Community Resources CLG, Bridgeways Family Resource Centre Ballymahon, and Lus na Greine Family Resource Centre Granard marked World Refugee Week with a successful community event which took place in Longford Athletics Centre on Saturday, 20 June 2026.

The event brought together community members, local organisations, and families for a day of connection, learning and cultural exchange. Activities included storytelling, performances by local choirs, archery, drumming workshops, Midlands Brick Club, face painting, soccer, and lots of entertainment for children. 

The Local Authority Integration Team, Longford Community Resources CLG, Bridgeways and Lus na Greine were delighted by the positive response and community spirit shown throughout the event and would like to thank all the participants, volunteers and attendees who helped make the event a success.
