Policy Statement

Longford County Council does not consider itself to be obligated to release Public Sector Information that it is in the possession of the Council. Any application for the release of Public Sector Information that is received will be considered on the merits of that particular application. Where Public Sector Information is released by the Council the release will be subject to the terms and conditions of the most recent Public Sector Information Licence that has been issued and any other terms and conditions that Longford County Council may deem to be appropriate.

Public Sector Information that appears on Longford County Council’s website may be downloaded subject to the terms and conditions attached to the most recent Public Sector Information Licence that has been issued.

Applying for permission to use Public Sector Information

Permission to copy or use Public Sector Information which is the property of Longford County Council and which does not appear on the Council’s website may be applied for by writing to the Council’s Freedom of Information Officer:

Any such application that is submitted must state clearly that the request is for permission to copy or use Public Sector Information.

The classes of data that are kept by the Council are listed in Longford County Council’s Freedom of Information Section 15 Manual.

Charges

Charges which are levied in respect of Public Sector Information that is not available on the Council’s website will reflect the cost incurred by Longford County Council in producing, collecting, reproducing and disseminating the requested information. 

The minimum charge for dealing with any request for Public sector Information will be €5. This charge will apply irrespective of the format in which the information is supplied

The Council reserves the right to seek agreement with the requestor in relation to any charge that may apply prior to processing the application. Where agreement has been reached in respect of the charge for processing a request the charge must be paid prior to the Council releasing the requested information.
