Longford County Council’s Night-Time Economy initiative was pleased to support the delivery of Bystander Intervention training in partnership with University College Cork.

The training was delivered in Longford and provided participants with practical guidance on how to recognise inappropriate behaviour, safely intervene where possible, and support others in social, cultural and night-time settings.

Creating a safe and welcoming night-time economy is a shared responsibility. This training supports businesses, venues, community organisations and individuals to better understand the positive role they can play in helping people feel safe and included.

The initiative forms part of the wider Longford Night-Time Economy Action Plan, which aims to enhance the cultural, economic and social vibrancy of Longford Town, while supporting safe and accessible evening and night-time activity.

Longford County Council thanks University College Cork and all those who participated in the training.
