Clondra to Tarmonbarry Cycleway Scheme is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union through the EU Just Transition Fund.

Longford County Council is undertaking a preliminary business case for an off-road cycleway connecting Clondra, the trailhead of the Royal Canal Greenway, with Tarmonbarry on the River Shannon. The study will examine options for a safe, attractive walking and cycling route, including potential crossings of the River Camlin and River Shannon. The project aims to improve connectivity between Longford and Roscommon, strengthen links between existing greenways and trails, enhance sustainable mobility, and support tourism growth throughout the wider region.
