Project Overview

The Clondra Village Enhancements Project forms part of the ongoing regeneration of Clondra village, providing improved public amenities, recreation facilities and infrastructure for residents and visitors.

Located on the Royal Canal Greenway, the project enhances the village environment through a range of public realm improvements that support active travel, outdoor recreation and community activity.

 

Key Features

The project includes:

  • Rationalised village signage and wayfinding
  • New railings to support pedestrian and cyclist movement
  • Additional seating and picnic facilities
  • Sheltered bicycle parking
  • A canopy and associated infrastructure to support outdoor events and community activities
  • Power bollards to facilitate markets and temporary events
  • Outdoor exercise equipment area
  • Accompanying civil engineering works

 

Project Outcomes

The project delivers a range of improvements that enhance the quality, functionality and accessibility of public spaces within Clondra village.

New seating, picnic facilities and recreation infrastructure provide additional opportunities for residents and visitors to spend time in the village, while improved signage, railings and bicycle facilities support walking and cycling. The event space infrastructure, canopy and power bollards create opportunities for community events, markets and outdoor activities throughout the year.

Collectively, these enhancements contribute to a more attractive and welcoming village environment, support community participation, and strengthen Clondra's role as a destination along the Royal Canal Greenway.
