Community Grant Support Scheme 2026

The Community Grant Support Scheme (CGSS) 2026 is now open.

You can apply through the online CGSS 2026 application by clicking this link 

This Scheme supports activities or projects focused on any of the following areas:

• active elderly
• the arts
• community development
• environment
• events
• heritage
• inter-cultural
• recreation

The chairperson, secretary or treasurer of your community group must complete the online application. You are advised to start your online application as soon as possible. You do not have to complete it all in the one go, you can pause and save it in draft format at any time. When you have completed your online application, you can then submit it.

Before starting your application you should: 

• Familarise yourself with the Community Grant Support Scheme 2026 terms and conditions. You can access the document by clicking this link.
• Have your Tax Reference Number. If your Community Group does do not have a TRN yet, please see the TR3 form by clicking this link here (Longford County Council requires this to verify tax clearance status if applicable, and it will also be used when submitting returns to Revenue as required). 
• Register with Longford Public Participation Network by clicking this link
• Review the values and objectives in Longford Local Community Development Committee’s (LCDC) Equality and Human Rights Statement which you can access by clicking this link.  You should show how your project would contribute to achieving these values and objectives.

When does the scheme close for applications? 

• Online applications must be submitted by 4pm on Thursday, 16 April 2026.
• Late applications will not be accepted.
