Public Consultation: Draft Parks, Playgrounds and Open Spaces Byelaws 2024

Draft Longford County Council Parks, Playgrounds and Open Spaces Byelaws 2024 are now open for public consultation. 

These byelaws are intended to manage the use of parks, playgrounds, open spaces, multi-use games areas (MUGAs) and recreational playing grounds owned or controlled by Longford County Council.

These byelaws will help to ensure these spaces and facilities are used fully and safely. They also work to ensure these spaces are protected for the enjoyment of users.

The byelaws are made under Part 19 of the Local Government Act 2001 (As Amended)

Post your submission to Director or Services Barbara Heslin, Longford County Council, Great Water Street, Longford N39 NH56. Submissions must be received by 1pm on Thursday, 7 March. 

A copy of the draft byelaws are also available to view at Longford County Council Áras an Chontae Great Water Street offices until Thursday, 22 February.
