Healthy Ireland Funding 2026

Healthy Ireland funding for 2026 is now accepting online Expressions of Interest from groups and organisations that have ideas for innovative community health and wellbeing projects for their local area. Projects should deliver under one of the following outcomes:

  • Increase in % of adults and children meeting physical activity guidelines (High-priority area 1: Lifestyle and Behaviour Risk)
  • Increase in individual's level of positive mental health as per Energy and Vitality Index All (High-priority area 2: Wellbeing Factors)

Grant funding of up to €8,000 is available. 

Longford County Council is responsible for administering and awarding this funding in County Longford. The Healthy Longford Coordinator and Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) are responsible for the planning and implementation of funded projects. It is supported by the Department of Health and Pobal. 

How does this fund work?

This is a two-phase application.

First, an Expression of Interest 2026 form must be submitted before Monday, 9 February 2026. All EOIs will then be reviewed.

Only eligible EOIs will be invited to the second stage, which will include submitting a full application form. This application form will contain more specific details about the project, along with quotations for the elements to be funded, and other supporting documentation.

EOIs must be submitted by Monday, 9 February 2026.

Incomplete EOIs cannot be assessed for inclusion in stage 2 (full application).

Late applications will not be accepted.
