Free Smoke Alarm

Longford County Council have worked with the HSE community services, local Gardaí and community groups to provide smoke detectors to approximately 320 homes over the last ten years. Smoke alarms have been made available to:

• Elderly persons
• People with mobility issues 
• Members of the Travelling community
• Persons living alone

Email to firestation@longfordcoco.ie to request a free smoke alarm. In your email state:

• Your name, address and phone number
• Whether you are an elderly person, a person with a disability, a member of the Travelling community or are living alone
• Your property type (for example, a bungalow, two storey or an apartment)
• If you were referred to request a free smoke alarm by the HSE or a public health nurse, community Garda or another person
