NOTICE OF THE PREPARATION OF A

SUPPLEMENTARY DEVELOPMENT CONTRIBUTION SCHEME 2026

ABBEYCARTRON DISTRIBUTOR ROAD DEVELOPMENT

Pursuant to Section 49 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended), Longford County Council has prepared a Draft Supplementary Development Contribution Scheme 2026 for the area of the Abbeycartron Distributor Road, Longford Town.

The purpose of this Supplementary Scheme is to facilitate the funding and delivery of critical strategic infrastructure - specifically the construction of the distributor road linking Battery Road and Ballinalee Road. This road will directly serve, benefit, activate and facilitate the sustainable development of lands zoned for residential, commercial and employment uses within the Scheme area.

Submissions or observations may be made in writing to the Planning Authority from 15 July 2026 and 27 August 2026 and submissions must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. on 27 August 2026.

Submissions should be clearly marked "Submission - Draft Supplementary Development Contribution Scheme 2026" and sent to:
