Longford Town Local Area Plan 2025-2031

The Elected Members of Longford Municipal District on Tuesday, 22 April 2025 agreed by resolution to adopt the Longford Town Local Area Plan 2025-2031, as presented in accordance with the recommendations of the Chief Executive Report on the Proposed Material Alterations to the draft plan. 

The Plan therefore comes into effect on Tuesday, 3 June 2025.

The adopted plan comprises the following documents:

• Longford Town Local Area Plan 2025-2031
• Non-Technical Summary - SEA Environmental Report  
• Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Report
• Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Statement
• Appropriate Assessment (AA) Report
• Appropriate Assessment (AA) Conclusion Statement            
• Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (SFRA) Report   

A copy of the adopted plan will be made available for inspection from Tuesday, 3 June 2025 at the following locations during normal opening hours:

• Planning Department, Longford County Council Offices, Áras an Chontae, Great Water Street, Longford, N39 NH56.
• All County Longford Branch Libraries: Longford, Ballymahon, Drumlish, Edgeworthstown, Granard and Lanesborough Libraries.
