Temp Traffic Lights N55 Fowlards Bridge

Longford County Council wishes to advise the following: 

Temporary Traffic Lights are in operation on the N55 at Fowlard’s Bridge (between Carrickboy & Ballymahon).

At this location the embankment supporting the N55 has failed and the road edge has subsided. For safety reasons, the road has been reduced to one lane under traffic lights.

The repair works at this location are currently being designed and it is envisaged the repair works will be carried out in summer 2025.

 Longford County Council apologise for the disruption caused by these unavoidable traffic management measures.
