Unauthorised signage and temporary dwellings
Longford County Council, as a roads authority, may remove unauthorised signage along public roads which is used for advertising, the sale of goods or the provision of services. It must return any removed items to the owner, however, disposal is permitted in certain circumstances.
Longford County Council may also remove any temporary dwelling from a national road. It must return the dwelling to the owner, but can seek to recoup any reasonable costs incurred. In certain circumstances, the Council is allowed to dispose of a temporary dwelling.
These powers are in line with the Roads Act, 1993.
