Temporary Road Closure - L-1121 & L-1119 Newcastle Rd

Please note the following Temporary Road Closure - Roads Act 1993 (Section 75) & Roads Regulation 1994 (Article 12)

Longford County Council hereby gives notice that it has made an order to close the roads in Longford town described hereunder:

Date:                                  From Monday 23rd February 2026 to Friday 22nd May 2026

Hours of Closure           24hrs  (during the above timeframe)

Roads to be Closed:     L-1121 & L-1119 Newcastle Road, between the N55 at Toome cross and the R392 at Forgney/Newcastle, Co Longford.

Alternative Route:      At N55, Toome Cross, divert via N55 to Ballymahon. Turn left and follow the N55 & R392 to junction of R392 and L-1119 at Forgney / Newcastle.

                                       At R392, Forgney / Newcastle, divert via R392 to Ballymahon. In Ballymahon turn right and follow the N55 to Toome cross.

For the section of road between Toome cross and the Center Parcs entrance there will be no through access, but local access will be maintained.

This closure is to facilitate the installation of water mains by Uisce Eireann.

Traffic management/Signed diversions will be in place for local traffic. Local Access and deliveries will be maintained where possible.
