Temporary Road Closure - L-5095 Farraghroe - between L-1052 Killoe

Please note the following Temporary Road Closures - Roads Act 1993 (Section 75) & Roads Regulation 1994 (Article 12)

Longford County Council hereby has made an order to close the Roads described hereunder,

Date:                               Monday 5th October – 16th November 2026 (6 weeks)

Location: L-5095 Farraghroe - Local between L-1052 (Killoe Glebe) to the   L-1090/L-1088 (Newtownbound)

Hours of Closure              8am - 6pm Daily (Open at Weekends)

Road to be Closed:      L-5095 Farraghroe - Local between L-1052 (Killoe Glebe) to the   L-1090/L-1088 (Newtownbound)

Diversion:         

Traffic management/Signed diversions will be in place for local traffic.  The proposed diversion routes will be as follows:

South to North:

  • Travel South-West on the L1090 (Newtownbond), Turn Right onto the N4 (Westbound)
  • Turn Right onto the L1071 Carrickglass Demesne (Eastbound) to arrive at the Farraghroe junction of the L1052

North to South:

  • Travel Westbound from the junction of the L1052 Killoe Glebe onto the L1071 Carrickglass Demesne
  • Turn Left onto the N4 and proceed South-East and East
  • Turn Left onto the L1090 Newtownbond (Eastbound) and proceed to the junction of the L1088 Glannagh

Reason:                            To facilitate installation of a new watermain on behalf of Uisce Eireann

Traffic management/Signed diversions will be in place for local traffic.In the interest of road safety, you are requested to heed all signs.
