Temporary Road Closure - N55 Old Dublin Rd

Roadstone Ltd have been appointed on behalf of Longford County Council as the main contractor to complete pavement resurfacing works on the N55 Old Dublin Road in Edgeworthstown (from Maria Edgeworth Roundabout to the junction at Quinn Hardware Store). Roadworks area highlighted in Red below.

In order to reduce inconvenience to road users in the area, pavement works will be carried out at Night Time (7pm to 4am). The road will be closed from 7pm to 4am each night to carry out the pavement works. The road will be open to traffic outside of the working hours.

The works are scheduled to commence on Thursday night 02nd October and will be completed by Thursday night 09th of October.

The scheme will generally involve the following works:

1. Significant Traffic Management.
2. Plaining and resurfacing of the existing Roadway.
3. Line Marking and Ironworks.

The works will be limited to weekday nights, with all traffic management measures removed over weekends.

Local access will be maintained during the hours of closure.

The nature of these works often means some disturbance is unavoidable, but please be assured that every effort will be made to minimise any unnecessary disruption during these works.
