Temporary Road Closure - N63 Ballymacormack to Lanesboro

Temporary Closing of Roads – Roads Act 1993 (Section 75) Road Regulations 1994 (Section 12)

Longford County Council hereby gives notice that it has made an order to close the roads described hereunder:

Dates:                                 N63 to be closed for a 6-week period between Monday 06th July 2026 and Friday 28th August 2026.  

Hours of Closure:             24hrs (during the above timeframe)

Roads to be Closed:        N63 Ballymacormack to Lanesboro at Gowlan Bog - Between Killashee & Longford

Diversion:                         From Longford: Traffic to divert at Ballymacormack.  Take the R397 to Terlicken via Kenagh. Turn right and take the  R392 to Lanesboro.

                                              From Lanesboro: Traffic to divert at Lanesboro. Take the  R392 to Terlicken.  Turn left and take the R397 to  Ballymacormack.

Traffic exiting Longford will be unable to access Killashee village along the N63 during the hours of closure.

Traffic exiting Lanesborough will be permitted local access to Killashee village along the N63 during hours of closure.

In the interest of road safety, you are requested to follow diversions and heed all signs.

This closure is to facilitate pavement improvement works on the N63 Longford between Killashee Village and Gowlan.
