The proposed development will consist of:

The provision of 5 no. speed ramps in appropriate locations as indicated on the drawings included and in accordance with the Department of Transport’s guidelines to act as traffic calming measure within the Bracklin Park housing estate.

Proposed Scheme

Under the Road Traffic Act 1994 (As Amended), a road authority may, in the interest of the safety and convenience of road users, provide such traffic calming measures as they consider desirable in respect of public roads in their charge.

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act 1994 (As Amended) of the following scheme:Traffic Calming measures by way of Speed ramps for the Bracklin park housing estate, Edgeworthstown. Road no. L-10916

The proposed scheme will consist of the provision of 5 no. speed ramps in appropriate locations and in accordance with the Department of Transports guidelines to act as traffic calming measure within the Bracklin Park housing estate.

In accordance with Section 38 of the above-mentioned legislation, Longford County Council, as the competent roads authority, has concluded that the above scheme complies with the relevant section of the legislation, based on the nature, size, and location of the proposed scheme.

Submissions and observations in relation to the proposed works may be emailed to roadsubmissions@longfordcoco.ie, up to 5pm on 21th August 2026, and also be made in writing and posted using the following addressed “Submissions Traffic Calming measures by way of Speed ramps for the Bracklin park housing estate, Longford County Council, an Chontae, Roads Department, Great Water Street Longford, Co. Longford, N39 NH56” and must also be received on or before 5pm on
the 21th August 2026.Please make your submission by one of the above methods only. Only submissions received as set out above will be considered. Submissions cannot be accepted in any other format or to any other postal address.

All submissions received will be considered and will form part of the Chief Executive’s report on the public consultation process.

It should be noted that the Freedom of Information Act, 1997 - 2006 (amended) applies to all records held by Longford County Council.
