Temporary Road Closure - L-1063 – Kilshruley to Aghagreagh

Temporary Closing of Roads – Roads Act 1993 (Section 75) Road Regulations 1994 (Section 12)

Longford County Council hereby gives notice that it has made an order to close the road described hereunder:

Dates:                                  As required fromMonday 14th September to Monday 05th October 2026

Hours of Closure:             24-Hour Closure (during the above timeframe)

Roads to be Closed:        L-1063 – Kilshruley to Aghagreagh

Alternative Routes are as follows:   

• Traffic from Ballinalee to Kilshruley should divert through Ballanalee village on the L-1056 to Gelshagh crossroads and proceed on the L-1054 to Bunlahy crossroads.

• Traffic from Kilshruley to Ballinalee should divert at Bunlahy crossroads on to the L1054 up to Gelshagh crossroads and proceed on the L-1056 to Ballinalee village.

Local access as far as Kilshruley bridge will be maintained, but there will be no through access at the bridge for safety reasons.

This road closure is required for reconstruction of Kilshruley Bridge.
