Temporary Road Closure -L-5223 – Tipper to N55

Please note the following Temporary Road Closures - Roads Act 1993 (Section 75) & Roads Regulation 1994 (Article 12)

Longford County Council hereby has made an order to close the Road described hereunder,

Location:                         L-5223 – Tipper to N55

Date:                                As required fromTuesday 1st September to Monday 28th September 2026

Hours of Closure:    24 Hour closure

Alternative Routes are as follows:   

• Traffic from Tipper to Ballymahon should divert through Toome on the L-1124 to Toome crossroads and proceed on the N55 to Ballymahon.
• Traffic from Ballymahon to Tipper should divert onto the N55 to Toome crossroads and proceed on the L-1124 through Toome onto Tipper.

Local access as far as Tipper bridge will be maintained, but there will be no through access at the bridge for safety reasons.  This road closure is required for reconstruction of Tipper Bridge.

In the interest of road safety, you are requested to heed all signs.
